安装依赖：

安装 Synapse

在本例中，我们将 Synapse 的安装目录设定为 /opt/synapse。

生成配置文件

注意，这里的 --server-name 参数，将会是你 Matrix 用户名的一部分。一般来说建议使用顶级域名，这样最终的用户名会更短。

使用 PostgreSQL

Synapse 默认使用 sqlite，为了性能更优，所以选择使用 PostgreSQL。

安装过程不再赘述。

创建用户：

sudo su - postgres\ncreateuser synapse\npsql\n

设置密码、创建数据库：

ALTER USER synapse WITH ENCRYPTED password 'DBPassword';\nCREATE DATABASE synapse ENCODING 'UTF8' LC_COLLATE='C' LC_CTYPE='C' template=template0 OWNER synapse;\n\\q\n

退出 synapse 用户：

exit\n

安装 Synapse 使用 PostgreSQL 所需的相关依赖：

sudo dnf -y install postgresql-devel libpqxx-devel.x86_64\nsource ~/synapse/bin/activate\npip install psycopg2\n

修改 Synapse 配置

vim /opt/synapse/homeserver.yaml\n

找到：

成功后日志中会有以下绿色字样：

如果遇到 FATAL: Peer authentication failed for user \"synapse\" 错误，请检查 PostgreSQL 的 pg_hba.conf 文件中的配置。

与 Nginx 整合

Synapse 默认使用 8008 端口提供 http 服务，使用 8448 端口提供 HTTPS 链接。为简明起见，我们这里使用 Nginx 反代 Synapse，以实现对外提供 HTTPS 访问。

为不与主域下的网站发生冲突，这里使用了二级域名 synapse.example.com。

在 Nginx 中创建一个虚拟主机配置，参考：

我们选用了二级域名，而 Synapse 中使用的是顶级域名，为了与客户端和联邦中其他服务器通讯，应当在顶级域名对应的网站下，添加 .well-known/matrix/server 和 .well-known/matrix/client 两个 JSON 文件，以指引它们使用二级域名连接到 Synapse 服务。简单起见，直接使用 Nginx 返回 JSON 内容，在顶级域名对应的网站配置中，添加：

在某些客户端中，即使配置了以上两个 JSON，仍会尝试连接顶级域名。如果你遇到了客户端提示 404 无法连接，可以在登录时，尝试使用 synapse.example.com 作为主域名。或者在确认与顶级域名对应的网站无冲突的情况下，在其配置文件中加入：

注册管理员用户

注意：

一旦用户注册成功，再修改 homeserver.yaml 中的域名将导致报错，修复将需要一定的手动操作，也可能引起一些未知的问题。所以请在安装时，仔细规划域名。
请仔细填写注册首个用户时的选项，变更起来也是比较麻烦的。

创建系统服务

# 先停止 synapse\nsynctl stop\n

创建用户

为了简单明了，你自然更希望博客域名和 Mastodon 域名是同一个。但是 Mastodon 无法运行在二级目录下。即使通过反代等手段，把 Mastodon 的 web 部分，转移到了某个二级域名或目录下，那么作为一个去中心化的服务，在与联邦宇宙其他实例节点交换数据时，很可能发生未知的问题。

幸运的是，联邦节点间通信的重要一步是访问 https://example.com/.well-known/host-meta，这个文件的内容中包含了供后续步骤使用的 URL。而且 Mastodon 也支持 LOCAL_DOMAIN 和 WEB_DOMAIN 两个选项。

配置 Mastodon

编辑 .env.production，进行如下修改：

__不要__修改 LOCAL_DOMAIN；
添加 WEB_DOMAIN 配置，设置为一个二级域名，比如 mastodon.example.com。

配置 mastodon.example.com

参考 Mastodon 文档，为 mastodon.example.com 配置一个 nginx 主机。重启 Mastodon 的 streaming/sidekiq/web 服务，重新载入 nginx 配置，现在 mastodon.example.com 已经可以访问了。

配置 example.com

但是外部实例尝试连接你的账号 yourname@example.com 时，尚不知晓你的地址是 mastodon.example.com，所以我们希望访问 https://example.com/.well-known/host-meta 时能返回 https://mastodon.example.com/.well-known/host-meta 的内容。

在 example.com 的 nginx 配置中，移除 Mastodon 的配置，仅添加如下规则：

location = /.well-known/host-meta {\n       return 301 https://mastodon.example.com$request_uri;\n}\n

重新载入 nginx 即可。

更多配置

以上配置均来自于 felx 的补充文档 Using a different domain name for Mastodon and the users it serves。正如文中所说，尽管通过主域名跳转和 WEB_DOMAIN 配置，能够实现需求，但因为实例版本不一、客户端种类繁杂，难免仍会有奇怪的问题发生。

而且将已经运行了一段时间的 Mastodon 从主域名切换到二级域名，可能会有更明显的问题。

根据官方文档中的 Routes 章节，以及使用经验，建议为 example.com 设置如下规则，增加兼容性：

看得头大。为什么我们要有这么多不同的账号呢？——这个问题很难回答。

那么，为什么账号不一样呢？

准备一个域名，比如yourname.com （或者一个 Gmail），打造一个属于你自己的统一牌个性IM！

这些IM都是可以绑定邮箱地址的。

那么，我们就从邮箱下手。

Email

先申请Google 企业应用套件。具体的步骤就不写了，谷歌有详细的介绍。当然，如果你已经有了邮局服务（或者 Gmail）的话，可以先完成下面的步骤，最后再来申请谷歌企业应用套件。

如果你使用的是cn域名,请参考这里。

Google 企业套件生效需要几个小时。

Gtalk

那么，现在你已经拥有了类似im@yourname.com的邮箱，当然，名字凭你喜好；im 可以认为是“I am”，也可以理解为IM，简单好记（我的）。如果你申请的企业应用套件生效了的话，你同时也拥有了一个登录名字为im@yourname.com的 Gtalk账户。

QQ

登录你的QQ，比方说2009正式版。打开个人设置，昵称上有一项“使用邮箱地址作为登录名”，点击过去，选择绑定到其他邮箱，输入邮箱地址，然后点击收到的邮件中的激活链接。

关掉QQ重新登录，就可以使用邮箱地址登录了，而且别人也可以用邮箱地址加你为好友。

QQ可以随时更换绑定的邮件地址。并不与密码保护等服务关联。

百度Hi

过程与QQ大同小异。但是只能绑定一次。

MSN

早有前辈总结，注册地址在此。（via 大猫 ) 。

不仅仅是IM，所有可以用邮箱地址登录的服务你都可以用这个邮箱来注册。其他的IM绑定就不太清楚了，基本不用。

后续

还是大猫周到，MSN／Gtalk 转移联系人。QQ和BaiduHi就不用转了吧，因为是绑定到你当前的旧账号。

好了，现在我们想象一下，某人的博客上关于页面（mourenjia.com/about）应该改写成什么样子。

账号统一了，可是我们还需要使用不同的客户端来和朋友联系。推荐使用 Pidgin 来统一登录管理各种 IM ，甚至校内通、飞信、Twitter。
